Honoring a Sacred Sunnah for Newborns
Our Tahnik & Tahliq service at Masjid Maarof is a cherished Islamic tradition performed by our experienced Asatizah, who have collectively served approximately 2,000 newborns. This sacred ceremony includes rubbing a portion of a date on the newborn’s palate, shaving and weighing of the newborn’s hair, followed by heartfelt du’a (supplication), and issuing of a certificate of completion.
Procedure
Rubbing a portion of a date on the newborn’s palate with utmost care and tenderness
Shaving and weighing of the newborn’s hair to observe Sunnah practices
Du’a asking for blessings, health, and guidance for the child
